The first night of a newly married couple is perhaps one of the most romantic that they will ever experience. As such, great care and painstaking planning is necessary to ensure that the first night of the honeymoon is going to go perfectly. And where better to spend one’s honeymoon than in Europe? There are so many destinations in this continent that are considered to be among the most romantic in the world. Let us take a look at some of the most popular and most romantic honeymoon destinations in Europe.

Italy

There is no doubt about it – Italy is one of the premiere destinations for honeymooners. There are two hotels that I would highly suggest for honeymooners in Italy. First is the Hotel Villa Cipriani. This hotel and the surrounding area have been immortalized by famous artists and even more famous people have called it their home. It has been named to the Condé Nast Traveller’s 2005 Gold List, and for good reason. It offers utmost privacy and yet provides all the convenience and services that honeymooners can want. Located in the hills of Asolo, the hotel is just an hour’s drive from Venice, another perfect destination for honeymooners. Another hotel that is great for a romantic getaway is Hotel Eden in Rome. Big names such as Hemingway, Fellini, and Ingrid Bergman, have all frequented this hotel. It is very near other Roman locations such as Via Veneto, making it a perfect base for honeymooners.

Greece

Greece is another perfect place to go honeymooning. It has some of the best beaches in the world and some of the most luxurious resorts and hotels as well. Try Perivolas, which is actually a complex offering 17 private houses. The landscape will remind you of ancient Greek amphitheaters and yet you can enjoy modern amenities such as an infinity pool overlooking the Aegean sea. I can’t imagine anything more romantic than that! Of course, Italy and Greece are not the only destinations for honeymooners in Europe. If you feel like going to the mountains, you have Scotland and Switzerland to visit. Then you have Paris, the city of love. Whatever your preference may be, a European honeymoon can satisfy you.
