Sightseeing in London – Top Fıve Tourist Attractions in London

in City Guides, Sightseeing

London is a veritable melting pot of cultures and it has so much to offer any visitor. From whatever part of the world you may come from, you will find something to enjoy in this city. Here are the top five tourist attractions that you can visit in London.

The London Eye
This is a must. This massive Ferris Wheel has 32 capsules which cater to about 10,000 people every single day! I am quite scared of heights, to be honest with you, but I would conquer that fear to have this experience. Tickets can be booked online.

Buckingham Palace
Another must for London visitors, the Buckingham Palace is the palace to be. It is the Queen’s official residence and is open to visitors in August and September. Of course, you may want to time your visit to watch the Changing of the Guards.

Tower of London
You wanna see the Crown Jewels? Then the Tower of London is your destination. You can also stand on the site where three English queens were executed. Talk about history!

Trafalgar Square
Another iconic place in the city, the Square is something that every visitor should go to. More than the architecture and the art exhibits, you can also enjoy a leisurely stroll among the countless pigeons loitering there. Feeding is discouraged, however!

Madame Tussauds
What is a visit to London without a tribute to the immortalized figures at the museum. You can see the Dalai Lama and even Shakespeare or the queen!

There are still a lot of other tourist attractions to visit in London, but do make sure that you go to these five sites.

Madame Tussaud’s is fun but very expensive. As is the London Eye. Some great free not-to-be-missed sites are the British Museum (see the rosetta stone!), and St. Paul’s Cathedral. The top of the Tate Modern offers a great (free) view of London as well.
